Gluten Free Living + Food Ideas

I want to say that I am a mom who can throw together masterpiece meals every week, with options and something new and exciting weekly. I want to be the person who knows how to create 17 things out of nothing but thats just not my wheelhouse.

I am a creative cook, I flow naturally with it, its easy and it truly is something that I enjoy. But as I have gotten older, have small kids running around and needing intense help all the time, I made an executive decision about food in our house: We are eating the same things every week.

I know, how terrible of me, but I decided that decision fatigue is real. When I feel like I have to make a thousand choices for my kids and their food options, I begin to sink. The sheer time it takes is enough to send me over the edge and way over budget. SO, I decided that until we start to tire of specific foods, I am going to make the same weekly meals that are simple and delish! It takes teh thought out, my family loves it, it makes leftovers and its a win win!

A year ago I went gluten free. I hate it, I know. But better today that 15 years ago when you had zero options. Being gluten free is annoying but it is not impossible and in todays world of options, I promise it’s fine. Gluten free living is truly just a way of living that does require you to think a bit before you eat something.

I did this for health purposes. As a woman who battled endomtriosis for a decade, inflammation is the very thing you want to work against. Wheat products have been modified in so many ways today that is has started to have so many negative effects on teh health of society. Why didnt anyone have gluten intolerance in 1930? well, glyphosate (poison that is sprayed on wheat for harvest) wasnt used. And because it wasnt used, people werent eating it.

However, today, we are. and we are sicker than ever. more inflamed than ever. migraines. autoimmune. gut issues. depression. anxiety. the list goes on!

So, i took the leap in the summer of 2022 and it has been a game changer.

I can say it takes time, some people feel like it is a detox. More than anything, it is a new way of living and thinking and helping your body reduce inflammation. WHAT A GIFT! SO, if you wanna join the band wagon in a SUPER simple way, I am attaching pictures of our family weekly meal plan and our snacks. Focus on eating this and see how ya feel! I promise, it’ll make a huge difference!
